Rev. Dr. Timothy D. Martin is a man of purpose who is squarely focused on the plans of God. His purpose is best understood in I Peter 5:2 scripture, “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.” Equipped with his purpose, Dr. Martin has a passion for preaching the Word of God. His heart is filled with a desire to see people know God and grow in their relationship with Him.

 

Dr. Martin is a native of Mississippi.  A small country Baptist church laid the foundation for his faith.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Jackson State University, a Master of Divinity from Shaw University, and a Doctor of Ministry with an emphasis in Christian Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. 

 

In 2002, Dr. Martin accepted his call into ministry at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church in Durham, NC. While there he served faithfully, teaching Sunday school, and bible study.  He also participated on different boards and committees.  In 2005, Dr. Martin was called to Pastor Russell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Pittsboro, NC.  It wasn’t long after that he felt a pull from the Holy Spirit, leading him away from the A.M.E. Zion Church.  He later served as the Associate Pastor at Amazing Life Christian Church in Raleigh, NC. Before accepting the pastorate at Grace Christian Church, Dr. Martin served as a youth minister at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC.

 

Dr. Martin is a provider and protector for his home. He is happily married to his best friend and soul mate, Dr. D'Etta Martin, and they work as a team raising their five children (Matthew-Joseph, Morgan-Josiah, Micah-Joshua, Makenzie Joy, & Michael-James). He is a devoted family man who cherishes his wife and values time spent at home. In addition to their busy home life, Dr. Martin and Lady D’Etta counsel and minister to married couples through their non-profit organization, Hope Filled Ministries.

 

Dr. Martin is a man of integrity and unwavering faith. He believes that our faith should be lived out daily, and we must guard our minds against worldly influences.
